Technical Writer

Sighten is seeking a well-qualified candidate who is passionate about driving the clean energy revolution by providing solar companies the information they need to successfully use Sighten software.  As a Technical Content Writer at Sighten, you will be asked to:

  • Maintain and add to Sighten’s KnowledgeBase (how-to articles and technical descriptions related to the Sighten platform) 
  • Create marketing communications and training materials
  • Perform content maintenance of Sighten’s website

Job Overview

The Technical Content Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining key external-facing content, including the Sighten KnowledgeBase and the Sighten website.  The ideal candidate must be highly competent at writing training and marketing materials for software, with the ability to combine clear explanations of features and services while at the same time driving engagement and interest.

Job Duties

  • Become an expert on the Sighten platform, which will enable you to generate training and marketing content efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain the Sighten KnowledgeBase, creating training articles for Sighten software that are comprehensive, well-organized, and understandable by users with limited or no technical knowledge
  • Create marketing communications that are well-written, accurate, and drive engagement with the target audience
  • Support marketing staff with other types of content creation, including webinar materials, conference materials, and sales collateral
  • Maintain website content with an eye towards accuracy, clarity, and engagement
  • Create blog posts and social media content
  • Perform other job related duties

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year writing software content (technical documentation, how-to articles, knowledge base, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hubspot website content creation
  • Experience with Confluence
  • Previous experience in the solar and/or renewable energy industry; previous experience in B2B software 
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), with the ability to explain complex / technical subjects to non-technical end users
  • Passion for supporting software customers and a sincere desire to deeply understand customer goals, needs, and challenges
  • A high level of energy, motivation, initiative, commitment, and professionalism
  • Excellent time management and discipline to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
