Sales Development Representative

Sighten is seeking a well-qualified candidate who is passionate about driving the clean energy revolution by providing solar companies with innovative software.  As a Sales Development Representative at Sighten, you will be asked to:

  • Qualify leads and schedule appointments for the Sighten Sales team
  • Perform outbound sales outreach to generate leads and schedule demos
  • Provide ongoing customer support to smaller Sighten customers and support other special projects

Job Overview

The Sales Development Representative will be the first point of contact for most Sighten customer prospects, and is responsible for qualifying leads and scheduling appointments for the Sighten Sales team. Additionally, this role will engage in outbound sales outreach to generate leads, provide customer support to certain Sighten customers, and support other special purojects at Sighten. The ideal candidate must be highly engaging and professional, be a positive, team player, and be able to handle a high volume of phone calls.

Job Duties

  • Directly contribute to Sighten customer growth by qualifying inbound leads and referrals
  • Deal effectively with all inquiries and represent Sighten in a professional, informative, and engaging manner
  • Prospect / identify high-value solar companies that are a good fit for Sighten software and work hard to engage these organizations and generate interest in Sighten
  • Schedule calls and demos with the Sighten sales team as leads are qualified and move through the sales funnel
  • Determine suitability of prospects for various Sighten products & services through strategic conversations
  • Hit and exceed set quotas and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Learn and build an understanding of our sales process and collaborate with the the team to ensure we are qualifying, scoring, and routing leads in the most efficient ways possible
  • Support A/B testing on messaging and the development of marketing content to drive inbound and outbound sales
  • Have room to grow through special projects into a full-fledged sales role or into other opportunities within the company
  • Perform other job related duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of sales, customer-facing, or similar experience
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A high level of energy, motivation, initiative, commitment, and professionalism
  • Excellent time management and discipline to handle many leads each day
  • Ability to learn new technology and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems
  • A high degree of empathy toward customers and a strong desire to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Previous experience in the solar and/or renewable energy industry; previous experience with B2B software
  • A proven track record in working in a target-driven environment; previous experience carrying a sales quota
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Ability to use sound judgment and follow appropriate criteria in the lead qualifying process
  • Excellent telephone and general customer service skills
